LOOKING BACK
I had in november a great experience with Veerle van Overloop (actrice) and 8 students of the Prince Claus Conservatoire. We worked on Coming Together by Frederic Rzewski and performed it twice during the very last edition of the soundsofmusic festival for contemporary music in Groningen. Hereby a compilation:
Together with the Estonian Tarmo Johannes I discovered a beautiful piece and an interesting composer whose work I never performed before: the French Betsy Jolas.
In January 2025 I was together with Tobias Klein in Arizona and Utah, Low Clarinet Festival and the BYU (university). To play to share our music and knowlegde.
And interview/review can be read here:

Inspired by this occasion the bass clarinet 4tet written for Basklarinet Festijn edition 2016 by the Dutch-American Vanessa Lann was published by the American publisher for bass clarinet music Alea Publishing, let by Kim Davenport, daughter of a (late) bass clarinetst.

BOOK
I do like to read in different languages, that gives different flavours..
I just bought Marseille 1940, Die große Flucht der Literatur by Uwe Wittstock.
It is 1940 and many European artists try to escape from the Gestapo. The American Varian Fry tries to bring as many as possibly of them in savety.
One corner of our history, which seems to repeat itself.
Betsy Jolas taught at Yale when I was there, wonderful
