LOOKING BACK
With my two students (from 23.June 2025 both with a Diplom Master Bass clarinet!)
With Eugene Lai & Chris Watt - Basset by Guus Janssen, version from 2021 for bass clarinets, recording in Groningen, Prins Claus Conservatoire.
With Katharina Gross I was during three weeks in Trondheim, Norway. Our hosts were two different artist collectives. We practiced together, we worked for ourselves, we went to concerts and connected with musicians from Norway, from the contemporary and jazz scene.

Great inspiring visit in Split, Croatia early April 2025. Erasmus exchange and invited by composer Ivan Bozicevic and his woodwind colleagues. We worked on free and structured improvisation with use of different instrumental techniques.
Aspasia Nasopoulou wrote the work 256 for me with lightdesign from Ernst Dullemond. Premiere 13.4.2025, recording in summer 2025. The work was inspired by a story about two boys from Syria who fled in search of a better life, they died at sea. Drawn up in the book Great Expectations: In Europe 1999-2019 by Geert Mak.
Picture made by my friend photographer Elisabeth Melchior.
LECTURE
We have the magazine of National Geographic at home and I read regularly about interesting projects which give hope and make me smile and curious about things I didn’t know at all before. In the magazine 06/2025 there was an article about Marocco, more specific about M’Hamid el Ghizlane. In this place, close to the Sahara, is water a precious thing. Water will again have to be managed communally and distributed fairly. Restoring the balance between residents and the changing landscape requires that young people also want to stay there. The solution was to start a music school in 2016. It was a big succes, although perseverance and long term commitment is required. In November 2025 is the 4th music festival happening, many musicians involved: https://joudoursahara.org/zamane/
